Here in Valle Aurina, the northernmost corner of Italy, you are in the middle of Vedrette di Ries-Aurina Nature Park, right in the realm of the 3,000 metre mountains. 80 of these mountain giants frame the valley. Some of them are visible right from your holiday home and promise an unforgettable nature experience in every season.
Summer emotions in the mountains
- For hiking fans the Valle Aurina is a true paradise, with hikes of all levels of difficulty. If you want, you can also use the Speikboden and Klausberg cable cars in summer. In this way you can save yourself a lengthy and strenuous ascent.
- Get pedalling, up the mountain. Whether with a mountain bike or a racing bike: Here in Valle Aurina there are bike rides for every taste and for all levels of difficulty.
- The more experienced ones among you climb the walls with rope and hook. In Valle Aurina you will find countless routes, some of which are rarely used, which generate enthusiasm among climbing fans from all over the world.
- Why not just lie by the river: a few metres from the apartment building the Aurino flows, leisurely and yet wildly. Wouldn’t you like to lie down on its banks and listen to its bubbling?

Valle Aurina winter magic
- We are about halfway between the two ski resorts the Skiworld Valle Aurina and Klausberg – Speikboden. The free ski bus stops 100 metres from the premises. The white fun here in the snow-covered Valle Aurina can begin.
- Whether classic or skating. For cross country skiing fans there are some gems to discover in Valle Aurina. With Casere/Predoi, Rio Bianco, Campo Tures and Selva dei Molini there are several wildly romantic and snow-sure trails, all within a few kilometres.
- There are numerous winter hikes in Valle Aurina to discover, which can be done with or even without snowshoes. Numerous alpine huts are also open in winter and offer delicious specialities and a warm room to warm yourself up again.
- How about a fun toboggan ride? Several alms and huts expand their access to the toboggan run in winter. After the ascent you can eat and drink there and afterwards race on toboggans back down to the valley.
- Advent in Campo Tures is an insider tip: a small but elegant advent market, combined with a walk through snowy forests to the imposing Riva di Tures waterfalls.
- The Brunico Mountain Christmas is Brunico’s Christmas market and is visited by countless interested people every year.
What else is possible
- The State museum for mining (usually open from April to the beginning of November) has 2 locations in Valle Aurina. Highly recommended!
- A shopping spree in Brunico (easily reached by intercity bus), combined with a visit to the Messner Mountain Museum Ripa at Brunico Castle
- The State museum for folklore in Teodone near Brunico (open from spring to autumn) offers interesting insights
